Researcher biography

Liana is PhD student within the UQ School of the Environment as part of the Ocean Conservation Team. Liana’s research direction is centred around the Moreton Bay region of Queensland, Australia, where she focuses on land–sea conservation planning and management, marine science, data analysis,and pollution impacts on coastal ecosystems. 

Liana graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology in 2024 with a BSc Honors in Marine Biology (with a double minor in Sustainability and Communication and a cultural competency certificate) and in 2025 with a MSc in Conservation Technology.

Liana’s goal during her PhD is to have a positive impact on the environment and help humanity care for, and preserve, the biodiversity of our planet.
