Researcher biography
Ita is a PhD candidate at The University of Queensland’s School of the Environment, researching strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in shrimp farming through ecolabel schemes, under the supervision of Dr Carissa Klein, Dr Zannie Langford and Dr Ron Johnstone.
Her marine conservation journey began with post-tsunami coastal rehabilitation in Aceh. She has worked in marine policy and sustainable aquaculture, and supports the government of Indonesia in implementing the CBD and CITES conventions.
