Researcher biography

Marina is a Research Assistant at The University of Queensland with the Fuller Lab, working under the supervision of Professor Richard Fuller. While participating in several different projects within the lab, they are mainly working on establishing the level of taxonomic and geographic coverage of International Environmental Agreements protecting migratory birds worldwide, and how different countries are connected by these migrants.

Marina has a Master in Science in Biological Sciences (Zoology) from the University College London and The University of Queensland, and two years of work experience on collaborative research projects studying international policy and legislation aimed at the protection of bird species, and the effects of language barriers in science. They have particular interest in the intersection of environmental conservation and policy, and the protection of endangered and endemic species.
