Gabriel Liu
Researcher biography
Gabriel is an Honours student at The University of Queensland. Having completed a Masters of Environment and Sustainability in 2020, he worked as a sustainability and environmental consultant providing advisory and consulting services for multiple clients across retail, agribusiness, infrastructure, logistics and financial services sectors. He is particularly passionate about topics such as sustainable fisheries management, conservation science and the protection of the marine environment.
This year he will be completing an honours project that looks at improving the social and environmental sustainability of wild-caught seafood by exploring links between the displacement of fishing impacts and social sustainability concepts under the supervision of Associate Professor Carissa Klein. He aims to evaluate policies and provide marine sustainability consulting services in the future to better protect our ocean and is currently an active volunteer with OceanWatch and WaterWatch Victoria.
