Researcher biography
Ji Qi is a Master of Environmental Management candidate at The University of Queensland under the supervision of Dr Daniel Dunn and Professor Anthony Richardson. She is intrigued with marine environmental conservation, especially in the polar region.
Ji's current research is on how China balances the relationship between conservation and rational use in the Southern Ocean under the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR). The research mainly uses a quantitative systematic literature review conducted by collecting statistical data through records of CCAMLR's meeting reports and analysing China's positions in CCAMLR.
Despite the current policy and governance research, Ji also has a passion for marine ecological restoration, and she aims to work in related research institutions to conserve marine environment in the future.
