Researcher biography

With a lifelong platypus obsession, Justine is currently applying for a freshwater ecosystems PhD position under supervisor Annabel Smith. Justine works with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service at Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre in a Customer Service Position and also as a volunteer ranger. In early 2021, she completed a Bachelor of Science with first class honours, in Ecology. For honours, she researched the population of black rats (Rattus rattus) at the Port of Brisbane, through extensive camera trapping and snaptrapping. She has considerable volunteering experience in biology data collection and animal care.
