Researcher biography

Suki is currently working as a research assistant at the Marine Spatial Ecology Lab under the supervision of Professor Peter Mumby. They are a part of the Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program (RRAP) Rubble Stabilisation team, where their main focus lies in developing practical guidelines for local practitioners to implement effective rubble stabilisation interventions that aid in the restoration of Great Barrier Reef. Suki completed their Master of Conservation Science degree at The University of Queensland with a thesis about mapping and modelling the risk of rubble accumulation across the Great Barrier Reef. They possess a keen interest in utilising spatial tools to address complex ecological challenges associated with coral reef ecosystems.
