Researcher biography

Acacia graduated with a MSc in Conservation Biology from The University of Queensland in 2023 with the Dean’s commendation for academic excellence. She has a background working in conservation policy. She has worked for the United Nations (ESCAP) in the Environment and Development Division and for NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service in the delivery of state conservation programs and regulations. Acacia completed her BSc in Animal and Biological Science majoring in Wildlife Conservation and Management with Honours in native species rehabilitation at The University of Sydney (2018). 

Acacia has worked abroad in Kenya, Canada and Thailand on conservation outcomes as diverse as reducing human elephant conflict with bees to developing and implementing the Bhutanese National Environment Strategy. She is specifically interested in native marsupial ecology and conservation conflict.
