Natasha Ufer
Researcher biography
Natasha is a Research Assistant at the Sustainable Minerals Institute, Centre for Mined Land Rehabilitation (CMLR).
She is currently working under supervision of Dr Laura Sonter on a project mapping environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks to Australia’s mining sector.
Natasha has undertaken a variety of research in remote sensing, vegetation assessments and soil chemistry for various projects at CMLR, in collaboration with many different organisations and mining industry partners. She has conducted fieldwork in Kakadu National Park, central Queensland, Gove (Northern Territory) and Weipa (far north Queensland).
She has a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science and, for her Honours degree, studied the rehabilitation trials of a small-scale bauxite mining pit at Hey Point, Weipa.
