Gillian Rowan

Gillian is a PhD candidate at The University of Queensland working on mapping kelp biomass with remote sensing for use in management activities and Blue Carbon accounting. She is supervised by Professor Stuart Phinn and Associate Professor Chris Roelfsema. 

 Before coming to UQ, Gillian worked to identify methane emissions in satellite imagery as an operations technician at GHGSat. She holds an M.Sc. in Geography and a B.Sc. in Environment Science from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
