Researcher biography

I completed my Bachelor of Science (double major in Zoology and Psychology) at the University of Otago in 2023. Throughout my four-year stint, I collaborated on research projects encompassing topics such as larval toxin ingestion in Drosophila, salmon immunity, and temporal niche partitioning in bees. My passion for zoology brought me to UQ where I will complete my honours in ecology & conservation biology, and hopefully pursue a career in research.

I am especially interested in neurobiology, sensory systems and the field of herpetology. My honours research project will use snake capture and relocation data to uncover spatial and temporal trends in the anthropogenic and ecological factors driving human-snake interactions in urban settings. We also hope to investigate the motivation behind customers of snake-removal services, and how we can limit unnecessary removals that negatively impact snakes.
