Researcher biography

I am an honours student currently undertaking my honours year with Professor Richard Fuller. My project will aim to better understand the nocturnal movement of birds along Australia’s east coast using acoustic data.

I have previously completed a Bachelor of Science at UQ with a major in Ecology and Conservation Biology and Zoology. I have a strong interest in rare species conservation, specifically involving birds, reptiles and amphibians, as well as animal behaviour, species responses to environmental change, ecosystem restoration and functional ecology.

Through my studies at UQ, I have gained a variety of skills including insects, plant and bird identification, both terrestrial and marine surveying, camera trap monitoring, lab work, basic GIS and R. Through my current project I hope to gain skills in bioacoustics and machine learning.
