Pauline Bourke
Researcher biography
Pauline is currently studying a Masters of Conservation Biology at UQ. She has qualifications in ecology, urban and regional planning and public relations and has had an extensive career working on major projects across Queensland. As a consultant, she communicates and engages with stakeholders and communities around the challenges and opportunities associated with government policies, strategies and planning proposals.
She has a keen interest in birds particularly migratory seabirds, shorebirds and penguin species and is interested in studying how these species can adapt to climate change and how to manage impacts on habitat. She volunteers in wildlife rehabilitation of birds and mammals.
She is a keen wildlife photographer and has travelled extensively, visiting 54 countries and regions including Antarctica, the Arctic, the Galapagos Islands, India, Madagascar as well as Eastern and Southern Africa.
