Researcher biography
Ben is a PhD candidate at the University of Queensland, looking at developing understanding of effective ecological corridor management and design, as well as better defining the role of corridors in achieving global conservation goals. He strives to bring interdisciplinary perspectives to his work, drawing on experience and knowledge across environmental, social, political, and economic dimensions.
Ben previously worked in the global conservation space, collating data and delivering capacity building to support reporting processes to multilateral environmental agreements, particularly around protected and conserved areas. Ben holds an MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management from the University of Oxford, and a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia, each with dissertations focused on connectivity modelling. Ben is also a member of the Connectivity Conservation and Protected Planet specialist groups within the IUCN WCPA.
