
Researcher biography
Jennifer (“Jennie”) Waldo is a PhD student at the University of Queensland working with Dr. Leslie Roberson and Dr. Carissa Klein. For her PhD, she is researching fisher-informed strategies for effective bycatch management across fisheries internationally. She is passionate about collaborating directly with communities to develop innovate, holistic approaches to marine conservation issues.
Jennie’s background spans marine ecology, social psychology, and fisheries policy. Originally from California (USA), she completed a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology at the University of California, Santa Cruz, received a Master’s in Fisheries Science at Oregon State University, and worked as a fisheries manager in the Florida Keys.
