Researcher biography

Rochelle Steven is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and project-manages The role of citizen science in threatened species conservation and in building greater community support for threatened species management ​in the National Environmental Science Program​'s Threatened Species Recovery Hub. ​ Rochelle examines topics and issues related to human interactions with the environment, both positive and negative in nature. Specifically, her previous research and professional experience includes themes on bird habitat conservation and management, engaging the general public in nature appreciation and sharing her passion for using native plants to create ecologically sustainable gardens. Her research covers both ecological and social research in diverse settings, including the Australian alps, Australia's tropical north, south-east Queensland, Fiji and the United Kingdom.
