Researcher biography
Jaramar is a PhD student using the Ecosystem Services concept and the Social-Ecological Systems framework in her research to explore how spatial information on the different values that people have for the ecosystems can be used to make better decisions when planning for conservation. Her project aims to account for the different components and interactions that link the capacity of ecosystems to provide with services to the requirements and desires demanded by people, with the overarching goal of integrating this information into a Spatial Conservation Planning design that identifies the synergies and trade-offs between biodiversity conservation, service provision and distribution to beneficiaries.
