Researcher biography

Lenn Isidore is a PhD student whose research focus includes the use and improvement of sound recording methods to detect and assess threatened populations of vocal species. His introduction to acoustic techniques within an ecological context occurred while undertaking The University of Queensland’s comprehensive Master of Conservation Science program.

His indirect route to this juncture includes undergraduate studies in computer science, employment as a programmer and several years of teaching information technology at the secondary school level. He first got his feet wet in conservation work while engaged in invasive species management and reptile conservation in his homeland of Saint Lucia (though sometimes shortened to St Lucia, this refers to a sovereign island nation, not the Brisbane suburb where he currently resides and studies :-) .
