CBCS Small Grant Scheme

The CBCS Small Grant Scheme is an annual funding initiative that supports new ideas, activities, and collaborations that strengthen the Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation Science community and contribute to biodiversity conservation.

The scheme acts as an incubator for early-stage research ideas and shared initiatives. It helps CBCS-affiliated researchers, Higher Degree by Research students, and Early Career Researchers build collaborations, develop practical skills, engage with partners, and create activities that benefit the broader CBCS community.

Past funded projects have ranged from collaborative workshops and professional training to community conservation initiatives, communication products, researcher-led events, and applied conservation research with external partners. Together, these projects highlight the breadth of CBCS research and the value of bringing people together across disciplines, career stages, ecosystems, and conservation practice.
